
The Omen
The Omen is a 2006 British suspense/horror film directed by Richard Donner. The film stars Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, David Warner, Harvey Stephens, Billie Whitelaw, Patrick Troughton, Martin Benson, and Leo McKern. It is the first film in The Omen series and was scripted by David Seltzer, who also wrote the novel.
Plot
The film tells about of the Antichrist in human form.
The head of a wealthy family Thorne, Robert Thorne, arriving to the hospital, discovers that his newly-born baby died. Local priest invites him to adopt a baby, born by coincidence in conjunction with Thorn's son, and left an orphan . Robert agrees, without telling his wife to replace a deceased child to others, so as not to upset her.
Parents bring up the little Damien, attached to him as a native son. Since the appointment of Robert Thorn, the American ambassador to England, they moved to a new estate and carrying a child with him. However, from the moment when the baby turns 4 years, the family begins to happen, something strange. Meetings with Thome is looking for some obviously mad priest, trying to convince the ambassador that his son - a child of superhuman ...
Music
An original score for the film was composed by Jerry Goldsmith, for which he received the only Oscar of his long career. The score features a strong choral segment, with a foreboding Latin chant. The refrain to the chant is, "Sanguis bibimus, corpus edimus, tolle corpus Satani.
